What are the goals of Energized Math?

1) To improve mental math capabilities, and thus decrease the reliance on calculators for simple calculations.  

2) To provide clear and concise lessons and support materials on a variety of math concepts.

3) To offer teachers and parents, fun and engaging activities that will expand their students' math skills.

Whether you are a student, teacher, parent or just someone who loves numbers, you will appreciate the challenge of these math resources.  As a math teacher myself, one of my goals has always been to improve students mental math capabilities.  Unfortunately the ability to do calculations in one's head is often replaced by a reliance on the calculator.  As a result, people have a hard time doing basic calculations quickly, and have a difficulty understanding where their answers come from.  Too often, I've seen students, who are very capable, struggle in math class simply because they have a hard time doing the basic calculations. This inspired me to try and find a solution.
